SfEP Advanced Professional Member. Need help to polish your writing? I am an experienced and recommended freelance proofreader, editor and book formatter who helps businesses, organisations, publishers and individuals with any non-fiction work, such as:

  • books
  • business documents

I am an Advanced Professional Member of the SfEP (Society for Editors and Proofreaders), was trained by SfEP and PTC (Publishing Training Centre) and have been in business since 2003. You can read some testimonials from happy clients below and on my website.

Before going freelance I spent over 14 years working in information and publications roles in an international legal firm, a local authority and several NGOs.

How I work

  • I will work in the best way to suit you, either onscreen or on hard copy.
  • I aim to help you polish your writing for better reader engagement.
  • I know when to intervene and when to leave alone.
  • I won’t try to impose my own voice in your writing because I think it sounds nicer than yours.
  • I can quickly learn the rules of your house style, or devise one for you, and make sure it’s used consistently.
  • I will endeavour to be clear about what I need from you and will clearly explain what I have done with your work.
  • I’ll always deliver work on time if I have what I need from you and will be transparent about my pricing.

I contacted Daisy Editorial for help in copy editing my manuscript for my ebook. I found Margaret to be very helpful in turn around times, fees and offering advice on areas I had no idea about. I personally have very little experience in publishing but am very grateful for the fast and professional service Margaret offered.

I would be very happy to recommend Margaret at Daisy Editorial to anyone who needs their work proof read/copy edited or the layout reviewed. If I write any other books I will be using Margarets services again. Extremely good and professional service.

I found Daisy through a friend as I needed a copy editor for my book. Margaret was very helpful and took care to explain the process and set my expectation. From the start of the project to the end Margaret provided a fast and professional service and I would be more than happy to use Margaret again and recommend her services to future clients

Margaret is a consummate professional and a joy to work with. I contacted her for a copy edit and then later on for a proofread of a non-fiction text. Margaret is extremely thorough and it is hard to see how anything would escape her scrutiny. But it is not just attentiveness to detail that impressed me; the intelligence with which she offered solutions to tricky problems, and the cultural awareness that allowed her to suggest appropriate phrases for any context are just two aspects of her work that I would highlight specifically as outstanding.

I can only recommend Daisy Editorial as the go-to place for complex non-fiction scripts. If I have another book in me, I will certainly ask for her help again.
